Harry Styles wows celebrity fans during first Love on Tour Sydney concert

After camping out overnight in the soggy conditions, Sydney fans have finally seen Harry Styles take to the stage.

Approximately 83,000 fans descend on Olympic Park on Friday, armed with feather boas for the first of his two sold out Sydney shows at Accor Stadium.

Among the crowd were a raft of Australian celebrities, including Jessica Rowe and Today Extra co-host David Campbell with their kids.

In addition to a selfie with his excited son Billy, Campbell shared a video of the stadium going off during a performance of the One Direction hit What Makes You Beautiful.

“Billy loves Harry Styles,” he captioned the social media post.

“What a night. So many incredible songs. But when 1D dropped I thought the place was levitating. What a superstar.”

Styles also treated Sydney fans to a performance of his song Medicine after fans lobbied online to hear it during the tour.

The track is one that’s never been recorded and the singer only ever performs live but had not done so as yet during his Australian tour.

In a poignant moment, the Watermelon Sugar singer ”raised the Aboriginal flag, waved and danced around with it”, attendees told 9Honey.

A member of the band, on keyboard, also performed the second half of the concert with the flag draped over his shoulders.

Similar to his Melbourne show last week, Styles helped one fan come out to her family.

“It’s Pride at the moment, isn’t it? I just missed Mardi Gras. Rats! But it’s PRIDE [so] can I get some sparkling coming out lights please,” he asked his crew.

The singer also shared a shot of a fan’s cat on the big screen and celebrated two band members birthdays with a cake.

After doing a “shoey” in Perth and vowing to never again – calling the idea of drinking from his shoe the “most disgusting” Aussie tradition – he instead coaxed the birthday boy guitarist into doing one for the Sydney crowd to witness instead.

Having worn a Bunnings hat on stage in Melbourne, this time around the singer opted for a pink bucket hat as his accessory of choice.

The pastel headpiece was teamed with a lemon and baby blue suit worn over a white singlet, which gave major Freddie Mercury vibes.

Styles has one more show to go on his Australian tour, the second night in Sydney, before heading over to New Zealand for two nights next week.
